+====== Aarhus Letbane ======

 +===== Signals =====
 +Aarhus Letbane use BOStrab signals and some BOStrab signs along with SR75 signs. SR75 signs are primarily used on Odderbanen and Grenåbanen - the two former railways, rebuilt to a light rail line.
 +
 +==== Main signals ====
 +**BOStrab:** Hauptsignale
 +
 +Signals H0-2 are main signals which the driver **must** follow. Failure to do so will have consequences. \\
 +Signals V0-2 are pre-signals (or repeaters) telling the driver what the following main signal is showing. This signal can be passed even if showing double yellow, as it's merely a repeater.
 +
 +=== Stop - signal H0 ===
 +
 +This signal means you must stop before the signal. Failure to do so will result in an ATP emergency brake.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Go straight - signal H1 ===
 +
 +This is a regular "go" light, which means you can continue with line speed or what the ATP allows you to.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Go in deviating branch - signal H2 ===
 +
 +This signal means you may continue to either direction through a switch which is set to the deviating branch, typically when entering a station's second track on a single track line.
 +
 +----
 +
 +==== Pre-signals ====
 +**BOStrab:** Vorankündigungssignale
 +
 +=== Expect stop - signal V0 ===
 +
 +This signal tells the driver that the main signal is showing Stop
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Expect go straight - signal V1 ===
 +
 +This signal tells the driver that the main signal is showing Go straight
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Expect go in deviating branch - signal V2 ===
 +
 +This signal tells the driver that the main signal is showing Go in deviating branch
 +
 +----
 +
 +==== Tram signals ====
 +**BOStrab:** Fahrsignale
 +
 +There are five tram signal aspects which are placed on shared or special tracé on Urban Line. These signals consist of either three or four lights on the signal itself. The tram signals are synchronised with the regular traffic signals for cars. The signal housings are SWARCO Alustar
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Stop - signal L1 ===
 +
 +This signal means you must stop before the signal
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Stop - signal L2 ===
 +
 +This signal means you must stop before the signal, and the blinking dot means the detection system has detected the approaching tram.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Stop, expect go - signal L3 ===
 +
 +This signal gives the driver a heads up that it's their tram has been detected by the traffic light controller, and they will get permission to continue soon.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Stop - signal L4 ===
 +
 +This signal means you must stop before the signal, but if you have made it so close to the signal it will be dangerous for you to stop before it, you must continue.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Go (Kør) - signal L5 ===
 +
 +This means signal means you may drive past it. There are three "Go" aspects, one meaning you may go straight, left and right depending on how the switch is set.
 +
 +----
 +
 +==== Route signals ====
 +FIXME
 +
 +**BOStrab**: Weichensignale
 +
 +These signals tell the tram driver which route he is continuing towards, depending on how the switch is set.
 +
 +=== Stop - signal D0 ===
 +
 +This signal indicates there has not been set a route for the tram.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Route is set straight - signal D1 ===
 +
 +This signal indicates there has been set a route straight ahead for the tram.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Route is set to the left - signal D2 ===
 +
 +This signal indicates there has been set a route to the left for the tram.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Route is set to the right - signal D3 ===
 +
 +This signal indicates there has been set a route to the right for the tram.
 +
 +----
 +
 +==== Derailment point signals ====
 +
 +=== Track blocked by derailer - signal Sv1 ===
 +
 +This signal indicates that the track ahead is blocked by a derailment shoe.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Track clear - signal Sv2 ===
 +
 +This signal indicates that the track ahead is not blocked by a derailment shoe.
 +
 +----

 +===== Signs =====
 +
 +==== Speed signs ====
 +
 +=== Speed restriction following - sign Ha1 ===
 +
 +This sign indicates that a speed restriction is beginning soon. The signs are placed 380 meters before the restriction. The upcoming speed restriction is the number on the sign multiplied by 10, so 75 would be 75 km/h.
 +
 +On the line **Nørreport-Lisbjergskolen** if the speed restriction is less than 20 km/h, the sign is placed where the restriction takes effect. If the restriction is higher than 20 km/h, the Ha1 sign is omitted.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Speed restriction starts now - sign Ha2 ===
 +FIXME
 +
 +This sign indicates that a speed restriction is taking effect, beginning where the sign is placed. The
 +speed restriction is the number on the sign multiplied by 10, so 75 would be 75 km/h.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== Go faster - sign Ha3 ===
 +
 +The speed can be increased to what the sign says multiplied by 10 so 75 would be 75 km/h.
 +
 +On the lines **Odder-Grenaa** and **Lisbjerg-Lystrup** the speed can be increased when the front of up to two coupled vehicles pass the sign. Other vehicles can increase their speed when they have passed the sign.
 +
 +On the line **Nørreport-Lisbjergskolen** the speed can be increased when the front of one vehicle passes the sign. Other vehicles can increase their speed when they have passed the sign.
 +----
 +
 +=== Speed restriction expires - sign Ha4 ===
 +
 +This sign is used to inform train drivers that the lower speed limit has ended and they are now free to increase the speed to what the line allows. It is typically placed at the end of a section where a speed restriction was in place, such as a work zone or a section of track with a temporary speed limit.
 +----
 +
 +=== Speed restriction for vehicles without ATP - sign Ha5 ===
 +
 +This sign is only used for vehicles without ATP or vehicles where the ATP system has been disabled. This tells the driver that he must slow down to 30 km/h in case the signal is not showing a driving permission into the station written below the red speed restriction sign. Under the name of the station, there's a distance written which shows the distance to the speed restriction begins.
 +----
 +
 +=== Platform speed - sign Ha6 ===
 +
 +These signs tell the driver what speed he is allowed to go when passing platforms. On special and shared tracé, the speed is 30 km/h and on own tracé, the speed is 45 km/h. This speed is not enforced by the ATP but is logged in the tram's onboard computer.
 +
 +This sign is typically placed together with signs **Dt1** or **Et1**
 +----
 +
 +=== Distance until signal - sign Ha7 ===
 +
 +This sign is used along with Ha1 if the distance until the speed restriction is not 380 meters.
 +----
 +
 +=== TBD - sign Et1 ===
 +
 +This sign has one of the two following meanings:
 +  * If the sign is not placed with a main signal, the driver is made aware that at the next main signal, he will enter the ATP-protected area, where his speed will be monitored and restricted to what the line allows.
 +  * If the sign is placed with a main signal, the driver is made aware that when he passes this sign, the ATP will begin monitoring his speed.
 +
 +----
 +
 +=== TBD - sign Dt1 ===
 +
 +This sign indicates to the driver that all train protection features are not active from this sign and onward. Therefore the driver can not rely on the ATP safety system to brake the train incase of speeding or driving past a H0 signal.
